Erice, Sicily (2018)

This was actually a work trip because we went to a conference in Erice. Erice is a small village close to the sea but 750m above sea level. While the views were pretty and the small cobble streets cute, it was usually quite foggy and rainy. But we had lots and lots of great food here.

Cefalu und Mt Etna, Sicily (2018)

After the conference, we went on a little road trip along the north coast of the island where we stopped in the beautiful town of Cefalu before we went on to Catania. The next day, we explored Mount Etna. We had a wonderful guide who drove us around and explained everything there is to know about “Mrs. Etna” and her “babies” (apparently that’s what the locals call the Etna and its surrounding smaller volcanoes). It was a wonderful day and a great way to end our Sicily trip!

Palermo, Sicily (2018)

I think it’s time to share some pics from my recent trip to Sicily! We started in Palermo. It’s everything you would expect from a bustling Italian city. Lots of narrow alleys, beautiful cathedrals and quite a bit of chaos! We walked straight into some kind of Catholic Maria festival. It couldn’t have been more stereotypical 😀
